Greenlea Premier Meats
Waikato-based meat processing company Greenlea Premier Meats Ltd approached Cullen Engineering to design, fabricate and install an automated boning conveyor system at their Morrinsville processing plant. This system feeds carcasses into Greenlea’s new Marel traceability software system for hot boning meat carcasses. Cullen Engineering had already built such a system for a warm boning room at the company’s Hamilton plant last year. Cullen’s Engineering Manager Bruce McCabe worked closely with Greenlea’s Engineering Manager Neville Thompson and his team on the logistics of developing the new boning stations for each step of the boning process.
North Power
Established in 1920, Northpower has expanded from a Northland-owned and operated electricity distribution network to become one of the largest multi-utility contractors in New Zealand. Cullen Engineering has enjoyed a working relationship over the past two years with North Power and regularly undertakes fabrication of structural steel support work for their contract work. This work includes supplying steel poles and beams to support transformers. Northpower’s Senior Project Manager Mike Peace has worked with Cullen Engineering in his current role since 2009. He first began contracting work to Cullen’s in 1986 when he was working for the Thames Valley Electric Power Board and he has continued to use Cullen’s at every company he has worked for since then.
